We love having Ryan and Nina as part of our gym family!
Ryan – “November 2021ish”
Nina – “We found Five Forks Athletics in November 2021, after a few attempts to other gyms around the area.”WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE WORKOUT?
Ryan – “Not sure I have a favorite, isn’t that like picking your favorite homework assignment?”
Nina – “I enjoy rowing and a good wall sit on most occasions.”
WHAT TYPE OF EXERCISES WERE YOU DOING BEFORE FIVE FORKS ATHLETICS?
Ryan – “Very similar to EvoFit, but incorporating lifting 3 days a week.”
Nina – “We were doing a similar class structure back in Michigan. I love the regular variety and how each class focuses on both strength and conditioning. It never gets old and always keeps me coming back for more.
WHAT ARE YOUR HEALTH AND FITNESS GOALS AND HAVE YOU ACHIEVED ANY OF THOSE GOALS?
Ryan – “Sure, I’d like to lose a few pounds, but overall stay fit enough that my pants fit.”
Nina – “My health and fitness goals have been to get stronger, less squishy and have fun doing it! Any bragging rights when I beat Ryan at something is always a perk. But basically we workout to offset our Saturday Costco snacking habits.”
HAS FIVE FORKS ATHLETICS AFFECTED YOUR LIFE OUTSIDE THE GYM?
Ryan – “Greatly, being new to the area and almost 40 it is rough to make new friends. We have met some great people here that have become friends.”
Nina – “Five Forks Athletics has had a tremendous affect on our lives outside the gym. As recent transplants, I probably wouldn’t like my husband as much if it wasn’t for the gym. He’s made me move too much. However, now I feel so fortunate to have found a community of friendly, encouraging, and motivating folks I get to workout with regularly.”
DO YOU HAVE ANY OTHER SPECIAL MEMORIES OR ACHIEVEMENTS DURING YOUR TIME HERE?
Ryan – “Not particularly, but super duper grateful to have a space where my wife and I go workout and feel welcomed.”
Nina – “I think my biggest achievement is simply making time for myself, a priority. I’m a better mom, wife and friend because I can focus on my health and wellbeing when I’m working out consistently.”
