I started my fitness journey in March 2013 after years of being told by my primary care physician I needed to get off the couch and exercise. At 63 I was overweight at 217 lbs. and on a statin for high cholesterol. After some personal training and workouts at a local gym I joined Five Forks Athletics when the gym opened in October 2013. Since then I have lost 60 lbs and was able to come off the statin. I’m proof that It is never too late to get yourself back in shape and be fit and healthy.
In 2017 I earned my CrossFIt L1 certificate and the owners of FFA gave me the opportunity to coach at the gym. When God says I have plans for you I never in my wildest dreams thought about a career in fitness. I have been working out, coaching classes, and training new athletes joining the gym. I took the CrossFit Masters course to help advance my coaching skills and I coach and program our Masters classes for those 50 years and older.
I am originally from Pittsburgh PA and retired after careers in the entertainment business, Information Technology, and Cybersecurity. I am active in my church, I love to read, and a huge fan of the Pittsburgh sports teams.
