What are your health and fitness goals and have you achieved any of those goals? How is it going so far?
To be honest, I came in not expecting much. I didn’t want to set myself up for failure. I was looking to find a workout that I could perform consistently and lose a little weight while doing it.
Has Five Forks Athletics affected your life outside the gym?
I have been coming to FFA roughly 3 times a week since I started and don’t remember the last time I felt this good. I have more energy throughout the day and just feel stronger especially in my core which I have always had problems with.
Do you have any other special memories/achievements during your time here?
I was actually able to do almost 20 regular push ups straight through. I don’t think I have been able to do that since my late 20’s. It may not seem like a lot to most but it is a pretty major accomplishment for me. I had to do push ups on my knees when I first started and it was a bit depressing. Having an instructor led workout has been the key for me. I like the fact that there is someone challenging me to get through the workout. I also think working out in a group has been a game changer. It’s nice to see everyone succeeding around me and the progress that is made in each person individually. I also get to workout with my son now and see him get himself into shape. It’s been an awesome experience so far and I actually look forward to going to the gym to workout.
